Um, A Global Digital Voting System?
Gregory Miller
Global Voting System. Ambitious. Provocative. And academic until systemic issues of integrity and trustworthiness in digital voting are properly addressed.
That noted, the GVS is a somewhat intriguing idea: A worldwide digital network designed with the goal of giving each individual a way to voice their opinion, and thereby bring a global populist democracy. Theoretically running on existing infrastructure (e.g., the Internet), the GVS could give anyone (with access to the distributed online system) a way to be heard on issues that affect them locally, regionally, nationally and globally.
Its definitely academically engaging, and definitely forward-thinking. I’ll leave it at that.
Cheers
